In progress, on purpose
Launching a newsletter about creating, learning on the go and being a work in progress.
Hello, welcome!
This space has been sitting in drafts for a while (like most things). I finally decided to get this out there, perfect or not.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the process of creating something, about how much of our creative and personal work happens off-stage, and how little space there is to explore it without performance pressure.
And so I present to you: The WIP Life. A newsletter about what it means to be constantly evolving—creatively, professionally, personally. A place to write through the messier parts of making and becoming.
In my day job, I’m a writer and editor. I’ve spent most of my career shaping other people’s words, clarifying ideas and keeping things purposeful. But I’ve missed writing for myself, especially writing something that doesn’t have to convert someone or solve a problem.
So here’s what I plan to explore:
The creative process, and navigating burnout and shifting priorities
Career stuff: pivoting, managing workload, doing less but smarter
Editing exercises to elevate AI-written pieces
How I feel about what’s changing in the field
Expect longer essays less frequently, shorter notes or fragments more often. I’m not trying to optimize this—just show up consistently and write what feels true.
More than anything, I’m hoping this space lets me practice sharing in-progress thoughts, before I overthink them into silence.
I’m glad to finally put this out there. Let’s see where it goes from here!
